Ambush them in "self-defense". This is from a well-known Muslim site, explaining this verse to an infidel (me!). The Muslim says "These verses have a context, and when understood in their proper context, it will become quite clear that the verses cited above are not a carte blanche for Muslims to kill all non-Muslims." Well, there are a few problems with this..., 'wherever you may come upon them, and take them captive' doesn't sound like self defense to me. Also the part about "after the sacred months are past, slay those..." sounds like hunting season to me. What? a start time but no end time. Is hunting season still on? Is not having a treaty an acceptable reason to kill somebody? What is this about "fulfilling their obligations"? If they don't have a treaty, there are no obligations, duhhh! And what about unarmed men? Can women and children be killed also? You would thing that a real god would choose his words more carefully and be more cautious about human life.

Try a lie: "Under no circumstances is violence against women allowed". Except for the verse telling Muslims to beat their wives. Oops, the Imam forgot it. How careless. The fact that Mohammed also beat Alisha is also ignored. Oops again. 
It is a safeguard for women. Yes, telling men to beat women prevents domestic abuse and beatings. The idea, I guess, is that if women know they will get beaten than they will not do anything to be caused to be beaten. Strange logic! You will notice that the verse does not even say that it depends on the woman being wrong or not, but only if the man feels it is necessary. 
The prophet said "do not beat women." This explanation says that Muhammad forbid beating and that "men who beat their wives are not good men". Notice the commentary doesn't provide a reference to this secret verse, but we must admit that it sounds a lot better than what the Koran actually says. The real question is how a Muslim can write words like "under no circumstances is violence against women encouraged or allowed" when he/she knows that is not true. Overall, about half of the Muslims Internet sites go to great lengths to explain the verse away, and the other half explain the techniques of a proper Islamic beating.
Muslims beating wives gives Non-Muslims the misconception that Muslims beat their wives. The site complains about Muslim violence against Muslim wives and children, says it is 'Islamically' wrong, and then states it hopes that this will cause them (the beaters) to rethink their ways. Then it says that Non-Muslims have it all wrong. Why doesn't this site just call for the "beat your wife" verse (and others) to be banned or expelled or deleted from the Quran? Why pretend it isn't there?
The West is evil, but 62.5% better than Islamic Countries. If you suffer from domestic violence in the West, there are 13 tips about things you can do about it, but if you are in an Islamic society, you only get 8 tips. The math says that the West is 62.6% better, I guess. Actually, when it comes to human rights, Islamic countries are mostly a big ZERO. It says that when a woman is beaten, she should think about her husband's positive aspects - like his religion or that he does not hit you in the face. "This will reduce your negative feelings for him." Sick! Unbelievable!
When all else fails, distort the translation This is the most common strategy. Mistranslate the Arabic text, add words and soften the meaning. Notice how this explanation initially tries to get around the statement that men are superior by adding the words "in different spheres." It is an accepted convention in translations that any words added for clarification are put in italics or between brackets. They are not in the original text. Many translations of the Quran do not follow this convention, but add words without giving notice to the reader. Next, it adds a "progressive discipline" approach that is not in the original either. It doesn't say "[first] admonish them, [then] separate them and [then if all else fails] beat them," it says "admonish, separate and beat them." Also it is common to see the word "beat" translated as "tap" or "leave" and even more common to see the word "lightly" added - as seen in one of the cases above. And there are even videos on the ancient Islamic art of Wife Beating: "there are three types of women with whom life is impossible without beating" and when a man beats his wife "he should avoid her face and other sensitive parts of her body." There are rules, you know. Islam really cares about and respects women.
Women like to be beaten!. The Grand Mufti of Egypt, Ali Gomaa, says that women are not adverse to a few good whams. Beating women is also an expression of men's masculinity. This guy is the Number 1 Muslim authority in Egypt, so he must know what he is talking about.
World's shortest Forum discussion. I found this on an Islamic forum. A poster asks about Mohammad hitting his wife. The Forum administrator says he isn't sure and doesn't like the word 'struck' (it is very violent). The administrator says he will get back. End of discussion thread. Notice that the guy even gave the reference. I am surprised they left this on the website. Usually inconvenient stuff like this is deleted.

Beheading in three easy steps... This site recommends that all dolls be disfigured so as not to resemble anything human. The idea is that the children will suddenly start worshipping them as idols. The preferred method is to either "cut off the head" or burn it until it is a lump of plastic. Of course, the page does say that Muhammad's child bride (Aisha) used to play with dolls, but that OK for her because her dolls were different ("not like this"). The Prophet said, "Yes," Muhammad bin Maslama said, "Then allow me to say a (false) thing. "The Prophet said, "You may say it," (Hadith Vol. 5, Book 59, #369). Notice that this is not only about lying, but also murder. The Imam answers: Regarding speaking of lies, Abdullah ibn Mas'ood narrates that Rasulullah (aka Mohammud, Islam's great prophet) said, 'The speaking of lies leads one to immorality and immorality leads one to the fire of hell.' This is the general rule regarding lies, but Rasulullah himself made the exception to the rule and whatever Rasulullah [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam] says is a revelation from Allah. So Allah made the rule, Mohammud declared an exception: it is ok to lie to fool, conquer and kill infidels. There is even a hadith by Imaam Bukhari called 'Speaking a lie in war.' Great moral example, isn't he! |

The Islamic legal system has a law for everything. I guess that includes copyright, traffic laws, and both maritime and airspace navigation. The most important things is obviously the "philosophy of punishment" which cannot be understood except within its principles. Other legal codes and systems may not be considered. 
Killing doesn't hurt anybody. The Muslims in Canada wanted the right to put apostates to death. They say this is because of the "special needs" of the Muslim community. Also the sites says this action (murder) will not diminish the rest of us. I wonder if the victim would agree. Also not the bla bla bla about "mutual respect, compassion, and diversity." Killing blasphemers and apostates is, of course, a sure way to "rise above the pettiness, and terminal meanness of linguistic, racial and narrowly defined cultural considerations." Yeah, right.

It is only 'administrative' brutality Yes, that is what it says. What the heck is an 'administrative' point of view? It is talking about the sharia practiced by the Taliban. So what if they forced girls out of schools, made women stay home and wear blankets with a peep hole, and even stoned and beheaded people in the streets? Killing kafir (non-Muslims, infidels) unbelievers is bad, unless.. Well, unless there is a justifiable sharia (sharee) reason, which means just about anything that offends Muslims. You will notice that most statements about sharia and Islamic justice will use this type of conditional wording, declaring that Non-Muslims are 'protected' if they are 'innocent' or have not caused 'mischief' or 'corruption' in any way. These terms are very vague - and this is a 'perfect' legal system. This gives Muslims the right to kill and/or persecute non-Muslims at will.
Muslim wives must have Muslim husbands; Muslim husbands can screw anybody! This is sick. The response given for the question (#4036) is that "the marriage will become null and void." It says that even if a woman loves her non-Muslim husband, even if he treats her well and even if they have children, she must leave him and get a Muslim husband, preferably one that doesn't leave bruises when he beats her (see above!). It is the will of Allah!
Women didn't need to cover up for him. "One of his unique characteristic that he was permitted to be alone with them (non-mahram / uncovered women) and to let them ride behind him on his mount," because "he was protected by his infallibility". So, Muslims women must cover themselves so as not to be seen by other men - except if that man is Mohammad. He can even ride with them or search women's bodies for lice and fleas. No comment!. 
Four wives for thee, a bunch more for Mohammud. Not to mention he married his daughter in law, some of his slaves, and even his cousins - just like in Arkansas. Of course, this privilege was granted only to Mohammud. Isn't it kind of suspicious that it was Muhammud that announced all these special privileges granted to Mohammad to benefit Mohammad? In modern terms, wouldn't this be a "conflict of interest"? Oh yes, you can marry a women so that she can take care of your children, and be your housekeeper.
He was a merry man, a marrying man. He married high and low, he married young and old, he married his friends and enemies, he married captives and free women, he married Muslims, Jews and Christians, he even married women to take care of his children. All this just to serve as a good example for his followers! What a man of virtue! Oh yes, by the way, wasn't Safiyah (Safiyaah) the woman he took to his bed the day after killing her husband? Oh yes, he also had her father killed. Did I mention her brother was also murdered by Mohammed at the same time, the day before the happy honeymoon? Are these considered an 'example' of how to resolve 'in-law' problems? PS: Strangely, almost all of the Prophet's wives are described by different as beautiful women. Imagine that!|

If it had been the way it is related in the hadîth of Qatâdâ, where it talks of what happened in the heart of the Prophet(P) when he admired her and wanted Zayd to divorce her, there would have been a great fault in it and which would not befit him. That would rather have been the action of someone who extends his eyes to what has been forbidden to him of the fruits of the life of this world. Allâh made Zayd divorce Zaynâb and marry the Prophet(P) to remove the barrier set up by ties of adoption and invalidating its customs.
The virtues of the prophet. As stated many times in the Quran, Mohammud is a 'great example' that Muslims should follow. I have put a few screens here from authentic Islamic texts that show some of the great virtues of this man. You must admit that Muslim do follow his example. They murder, beat their wives, torture, attack, plunder, rape, enslave and so on. Note also that the texts are from MSA - The Muslim Student Association and the University of California. There are hundreds of vile events like these in the life of this man - yet he is considered a great moral example.|

Even the Prophet's Urine was perfect! The Grand Mufti of Egypt, Ali Gamaa, having declared that women like to be beaten, now has come up with another revelation: "A thimble of the Prophet's urine did bestow blessings on those who drank it". He says that other bodily discharges of the prophet also bestow blessings as well. This makes Catholic 'holy water' look pathetic! I could add a few more sarcastic comments, but I can't make this any 'stupider' than it is.
Dogs are bad! We hate puppies. It is a well known fact that dogs are considered impure and dirty in Islam. Too bad they are not clean and cute, like camels, for example. In Iran, dogs are being arrested for the crime of ... being a dog. How do you plea, Rover? Bow-wow. Guilty!
Music is bad! Yep, it is not permissible and must be prohibited. As everybody knows, music "is just like fornication and wine-drinking." And get rid of those guitars! This may explain why so many Muslims can't tell the difference between playing a guitar and having sex - they are basically the same. 
Female voices are bad! Yep, as it says, "one should avoid listening to the voice of a female unnecessarily." This is very true, specially when what female voice is nagging or giving you your "honey-do's." Maybe Islam does have its good points, after all.
No Dancing, please. Dancing and singing is the custom of the Kuffaar (non-Muslims) and absolutely Haraam (forbidden). It does not matter that there are only women. It is permissible to express happiness during happy occasions but within the boundaries of Shari'ah. Any act in imitation of the Kuffaar is prohibited. That deprives one of the Barkaat and blessings of the sacred occasion. Any act of imitation? Well, how about breathing? Infidels breathe, so Muslims should hold their breaths so not to imitate non-Muslims.
Smiley faces make me sad. It's alive! Yes those 'smiley' faces are animate objects so they must be alive so drawing them is prohibited. Anyway, to speak freely and beyond necessity is a sin, too. Hey, I am not making this stuff up! This is all part of the joyful life that is Islam. This may explain, who knows, maybe, why Muslims all want to come to the West. The trouble is that they come and they bring their hate, anger and alienation with them. Oh yes, don't use the word 'happy' if non-Muslims are involved. No "Happy Christmas", "Happy Birthday" or happy anything to those evil infidels.
Chess and checkers, the first stop on the road to hell. Question: Is playing chess/checkers haram (forbidden)? The Imam says: Rasulullah (Mohammed) said, 'Whosoever plays chess, it is as though he soiled his hands in the blood of swine.' (Nasbur-Raayah Vol.4 Pg.274). The prohibition is general. However, chess and games of its like are generally addictive and in addition to it are a complete waste of valuable time that could be better spend killing infidels.

Quote: "Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: He who killed a gecko with the first stroke for him is such and such a reward, and he who killed it with a second stroke for him is such and such reward less than the first one" So killing a harmless lizard (or as Mo says, 'little noxious creatures") is not just good, but gives you "70 rewards', as it says. Only a Muslim could do this! The title of this page is "No compulsion in religion." How could any normal person write an essay with this title and then end it with the words "the law of execution will apply." Sicko! Notice that its adds that this only applies if under Muslim jurisdiction. Notice also that the guy says that Muslims in the West are under "Kuffar rule." Non-Muslims in the West don't realize it, but Muslims think we are ruling over them. And we consider them to be just fellow citizens with the same rights. Killing people is like giving traffic tickets! Quote: "There is no doubt that such a serious crime (apostasy) must be met with equally weighty punishment. If the kuffaar do not give people the freedom to cross a red light, how can we give freedom to people to leave Islaam..." So, if we let people run red lights, does that mean Muslims will forgive apostasy and not kill apostates? Can we get that in writing? On the other hand, maybe we should just kill people who run red lights! That would put a stop to those traffic violations.

And also, "This type of killing is not simply permissible, but commendable and worthy of reward" It does say the command is "vague and sweeping" and "open to misinterpretation" but the Iman makes it clear that it is OK to kill infidels that "oppose Islam and the Muslims". What does oppose mean, anyway? Does that cover only those that fight Muslims? Argue against Islam? What it means is that Muslims have a right and duty to kill infidels if they (infidels) say unkind things about Islam or offend Muslims in any way? Compassionate killing and Infidel Apostates. This is the same as above. Muslims in Canada want to kill Muslims who leave Islam. This is, according to this website, how Muslims build "respect, compassion and diversity" with the greater community. Note that it says that if a Muslim commits blasphemy, it is tantamount to apostasy, and so the Muslim "becomes an infidel". Well, if he is an infidel he is no longer a Muslim (you f**king idiots!) so the apostasy charge is meaningless. Any excuse to kill is enough for some Muslims! Don't be friends with non-Muslims. The Imam advises Muslims not to be friends with non-Muslims, or even eat with them, unless it serves an Islamic purpose. This is called being deceitful and 'using' people. I would not mind having lunch with a Muslim; I always enjoy asking why they admire a man that enslaved, tortured, murdered, raped and even beat his wife. Now that is "truth."
The Geneva convention this is not! Regarding Prisoners of war, it says the ruler of the Muslims "may ransom them for money, or exchange them for Muslim prisoners, or distribute them among the Muslims as slaves, or kill the men, but not the women and children." Allah Ta'ala has said in the 'Holy' Quraan: "You have been given a very small portion of knowledge". Hence, if a person fails to comprehend the underlying wisdom of any law of Shariah, he cannot regard it as a fault of Shariah (Allah forbid), on the contrary, it is the fault of his own perception and lack of understanding, because no law of Shariah is contradictory to wisdom. The position of slavery in Islam is 'What slavery?' This is in the same category as the 'beat your wives' thing. The sad fact is that slavery has been rampant in Islam, from the times of the prophet until the 20th Century. Mohammed himself took slaves, and possessed and sold them. Perhaps this is just a play on words. Does capturing a 'free man' include soldiers? or does the hadith only apply to one who 'enslaves, sells and eats the money' but not one who just 'enslaves' or 'enslaves and sells'? Excuses, lies, distortions...
This slave woman belongs to him. This text explains why a man can have sex with his slaves, married or not. It is because she belongs to him, because he has bought her or has captured her. Note that it emphasizes that it is really important that he "acquire" her in a proper manner. Imagine acquiring a slave in an improper manner - now that would be evil!

The prophet did not own slaves, well he did but... he bought them and freed them, except the ones he hired out, but they were less than the ones he bought. What happened to the surplus? (bought > free + hired out) And just because the author uses the word slave it doesn't mean slave, and being hired is the same as being a slave.

Infidels get to pay a "punishment tax." Quote: Jizyah was a special kind of tax imposed primarily on the rejecters from the people of the book, after their refusal to accept Islam. They also had to pay other taxes normally known as 'Dharaaib' and 'ushoor'. Of course, for the polytheists (Hindus and Buddhists), their punishment for the non-acceptance of God's truth was nothing less than death. Nice folks, these! 
Separation of religion and state is not an option. Secularism is just another religion so Muslims cannot hold office in a secular regime, because they would have to their Allah-given beliefs (kill all the infidels, screw the women slaves, etc...) with man-made beliefs. Too bad, isn't it!

A non-Muslim living in an Islamic state also enjoys the same rights of freedom and protection as enjoyed by the Muslim citizens, but… Yes, they may preach their religion amongst the non-Muslims but not amongst the Muslims as they are preaching a baatil (false) religion amongst believers. This is unacceptable to us. In fact Non-Muslims cannot do anything that Muslims consider contrary to Islam. Islam has given women all her rights. Islam "gave women everything = freedom, economic rights, political rights, social rights, public and private rights. Islam gave women rights in the family granted by no other society." And women love to be beaten, too. Orwell had it right about these guys, the only question is if it is Animal Farm or 1984. 
An example of all those rights. Just click on the image and read the report. This is part of that "everything" given to women by Islam. Note that this raises "serious questions." Is that all they can say? This is not a religion; it is a vile criminal gang. I will not apologize for that statement. After maybe 15 years, I still remember a picture of the dead body of a little boy in Algeria being pulled from a well where it had been thrown by Islamic thugs wanting to impose an even more "pure" Islam on that nation.
Shaking hands is sex, too. So Muslim women cannot shake hands with men. So if two Muslim men shake hands, are they committing zina (fornication), too?
Silly feminist notions, like "freedom." This is a rant against educated and independent Western women and why Muslims should avoid them. A child who came between her legs was smeared with the blood that was there." Ouch! What happened? Yes, women are stupid. A man asks if , according to Islam, are women lacking in intellect as compared to men? The Imam responds: It is true that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) has mentioned that women have less intelligence than men. This is recorded in Bukhari Shareef. This is a another unique way that Islam honors women. Note: 'Rasulullah' means "Messenger of Allah" and is the term often used by Muslim to refer to their dear leader Muhammad. "Tilth" is another term that needs clarification. It is an old word that means "field to be plowed." Nice! 
All the women named in the Quran. So a Muslim decides to write a page on important women mentioned in the Quran. Humm, wait a minute. There are so many, I know there are some, somewhere. Hummm, I think I will put this page as "under construction" while I make a list of the many, many distinctive females mentioned in the Quran by name. Gosh, where did they all go? OK, I will help. Here is a complete list of all the women named in the Quran: Mary. That is it. No more. That shows the high regard that Islam has for women. I have no idea how many women are mentioned in the Bible, but it certainly is in the hundreds, maybe thousands. As far as I remember the Quran does mention some other women, but not my name: Eve, the mother and sister of Moses, the wife of Lot, the wife of Pharaoh, and the Queen of Sheba - all from the Bible. In fact, the only reference to a specific non-biblical woman in the Quran is a rather confused, unprincipled statement (58:1-4) on how to handle a wife that complained about being divorced from her husband because he said she was zihar (like her mother), or because the wife's rear end looks like that of her mother. The Quran says this is very very bad thing, but if you do it you can free a slave, or if you can't do that, then just fast for two months, or if you can't do that, buy lunch for 60 poor people. I quote: "Those are limits set by Allah." Rather flexible limits for saying and doing something condemned as "iniquitous and false" (Yusuf Ali's translation) or a "hateful word and falsehood" (Shakir). So for about $300, or 60 meals at $5 each, this terrible sin is taken care of. Wow!
Update: One Muslim told me that there is a chapter/book in the Quran named 'Women' and that shows the high regard held for them. Yes, I know - and there also chapters in the Quran named 'Cow' 'jihad' and 'plunder' - which show, by the same logic, the high regard Allah has for cattle, war and plunder. In fact, the 'Cow' chapter has more verses than the 'Woman' chapter.
Calls for a better understanding of 'others'. So a bunch of people get together and suggested that maybe "the hatred taught about non-Muslims in the educational system and the media should stop..." No worry, it was just an idea - never will happen. Sorry for bringing up such a silly notion. No changes, no apologies. Let's not talk about this. 
Hate here, hate there, hate everywhere. The fact is that hate and anger follow Islam like shadow on a hot cloudless summer day, or better, like flies around camel manure. Where Muslims go they take their hate with them, in Europe, American, even Australia. So where do they learn this?
Laws against hate, so lets exclude the Quran. When Britain was debating hate legislation, Muslims from the MCB went to the Home Office to request that texts from the Quran and hadiths be excluded by law from hate speech codes. That tells you a lot about this "holy" book and its message of love. This same thing actually happened in Australia where two Christians (Catch the Fire ministries) were condemned for hate speech derived from reading Islamic texts. Think about that!
First of all, hate - and then more hate. Here is the answer to question #70256 on the Islam Q and A site: You should instill a hatred for this culture and its ways in the hearts of your children, and inform them that it is contrary to divine law and the sound nature of man. Give them examples and contrast it with Islamic morals, and instill a sense of connection with Islamic culture and its ways, and let them know that they will not stay in that land for long. The problem is that Muslims are staying and don't want to go back to Islamic societies. They may be Muslims, but they are not stupid. They just say stupid things.
Clear but you can't understand it. The Quran repeatedly claims itself to be a "clear book" (5:15) "easy to understand” (44:58 , 54:22 , 54:32, 54:40) "explained in detail" (6:114), "conveyed clearly", (5:16, 10:15) and with “no doubt” in it (2:1). Of course Muslims say you have to study it for years to understand it, and they say you can't translate it and they add all the sharia jurisprudence to complement this 'complete' 'detailed' book.
The Quran can't be translated. You must speak Arabic. If you don't speak Arabic, you can't understand the Quran. It says: if you rely on translations alone, you will probably misunderstand it. So the 1 billion Muslims that don't speak Arabic really don't understand their sacred scripture. I agree with this statement.
Even if you read Arabic, you still may not understand it. Just speaking Arabic alone doesn't help, you must also have "Islamic knowledge." So, even if you speak Arabic, you may not understand this simple, clear book, but if you spend 30 years studying it, then you can argue over its meaning with other Islamic scholars about its interpretation. Great! 
Its not just any Arabic, you must speak 7th Century Arabic The Qur'an, accepted by Muslims as Allah's revealed words to mankind, apply only to it as in the original 7th century Arabic. Once the Qur'an is no longer in the original 7th century Arabic, it becomes a translation only. Since it has been translated, it is only that person's best attempt at interpreting Allah's revealed words, and hence may contain mistakes (as is common in all translations of any book). The problem is that there are very few 1,300 year old Muslims around that speak 7th Century Arabic. Note to Mr Imam: English is also vast, and an English word can have many meanings in Arabic. So what?
Muhammad was illiterate, and couldn't read nor write either. He also was not a surgeon nor a psychiatrist or a physiologist. He just passed on Allah's message verbally to other people who couldn't read or write also, who passed it on to other others who also couldn't read or write, until two generations later, somebody wrote it down word for word, without mistakes. 
This what I call a translation... The Koran is so clear and so simple that this translation clarifies clear. They really want to make sure you understand the 'screw your wives anyway anytime' verse and do it right. Save all the kinky stuff for the slave girls.
Now this explains it all. This is my favorite explanation of the problematic nature of the Quran. It says that the Quran must be taken literally, except if it can't be understood literally. In this case there are three options: 1. use sharia Islamic law to clarify it 2. use the 'linguistic' meaning, and 3. If it is still not clear, base the ruling on the habits of the people. I don't know, but I think that means that Allah's divine ruling is whatever the people do. It gets worse. It says that the Quran and hadiths can either the specific or general, but if one contradicts the other then the explicit overrules the comprehensive. Even so, some texts are equivocal and of singular meaning but others are unequivocal with more than one meaning, in this case the unequivocal must be understood in terms of the equivocal. (I think he actually means the opposite!). Then the Imam moves on to the issue of abrogated texts. These are the ones that are no longer valid, or have been replaced by 'better' texts.
Meaning or 'apparent' meaning? So if the Quran is simple and easy to understand, why all this need for opinions and knowledge. Is this man calling Allah a liar? Why does it say that if he is qualified and knowledgeable, he can determine the 'apparent' meaning. That means it is just his interpretation or opinion, and not the word of Allah. 
Damn infidels, always confusing Islamic scholars. So what if Islamic "scholars have come up with hundreds of cases of abrogated verses" and fill whole libraries with them. Abrogation is a lie invented by Muslim scholars, and the pesky infidels use this lie to tarnish the perfection and divinity of the Quran. 
Don't "do it yourself". The Iman says that unless you have certain undefined special knowledge, you will not be able to know which verses of the Quran still carry legal weight. He does say that deriving Islamic law from the 'revealed' sources is difficult and demanding. But I thought it was simple and easy to understand!
The Quran is like a carton of milk. Well, at least some verses. They have expiration dates. It says also that Muslims scholars "do not hold to the same set of abrogated ayahs (verses)". So somebody not only forgot to print the expiration date on the milk label, they even forgot to mark which cartons would expire and when and what other verses substitute the expired verses. And this is a perfect book? 
Don't worry, jihad hasn't been abrogated! I was worried there for a minute that some Muslim scholar would say that Muslims didn't have to kill infidels anymore. This Imam makes it clear that thoses verses are not abrogations, just clarifications.
The real boss! The Quran, given by Allah, is perfect and eternal, unless Mohammed decides to change it through an edict written by a follower in the traditions (hadiths!). In other words, what ever Mohammed did, or the writers said he did, supersedes the Quran.|

This is perhaps the greatest ruling ever given to Muslims. Yes before this explanation, life was hell for Muslims. Thanks to this Imam for making it clear that a person should not use coal, bones, glass (?), or baked bricks to clean their butt after a bowel movement. Printed paper is not proper, but toilet paper is permitted. 
Keep your private parts under control. The important thing is not to let your private parts turn this way or that way on their own. Keep them pointed away from the Qubla even if the rest of the body is not pointed that way! Question: Do Muslim genitals operate independently of the rest of their bodies? Oh yes, never show your private parts to crazy people! 
To Ghusl or not Ghusl, that is the question. When a person is in doubt whether he or she has done ghusl or not, such person must do ghusl. However if doubt arise in the mind as to if ghusl was correct, there is no need to do ghusl again. Of course, if he/she does ghusl making the anal part pak with the same water, then the owner of the water used for ghusl must agree with the ghusl, otherwise the ghusl is void (question: does the owner get his water back?) and one must ghusl again. Now if a person farts during ghusl, that is okay, as long as he/she does wudhu. Any questions?
A simple question, no answer. I am really mean, or maybe I have a sense of humor. I went to the largest Islam Q&A site on the Internet and submitted a question and Muhammad and his slaves. I even got a reference number for my answer. It has been several months, but they have not answered by question. I wonder why?
I also went to Islamic forums and posted questions asking about certain "not so nice" aspects in the life of Islam's dear prophet. Do you think I found any Muslims wanting to talk about this? No, they are in denial. They refuse to accept the obvious. It is as if their eyes glaze over and their brain quits working. It would be funny if it weren't so tragic.
More questions, no answers I went from site to site, asking Muslim experts to explain and justify the actions of their dear prophet. Do you think I got any answers?
Islam ended slavery. Oh, it did? Did the slaves notice this? The sad fact is that slavery in Saudi Arabia was legal until 1962, well within my lifetime. The Swedish Chancellor of Justice, Goran Lambertz, decided not to prosecute Muslims leaders on incitement to violence charges after calls to "kill the Jews" were made at the Grand Mosque of Stockholm... He explains: "The lecture did admittedly feature comments that are highly degrading to Jews, among other things they are consistently referred to as the brothers of apes and pigs. But such statements should be judged differently - and therefore be regarded as permissible - because they were used by one side in an ongoing and far-reaching conflict...
Islam made her steal cars. Actually she has a point. Her husband and father told her to steal 167 cars, so she had to do it. If she disobeyed, she could have been beaten. So she had no choice. This, then, is a case of robbing cars to honor Allah. Great!
Crusader Nurses spread HIV. This is one of thousands of examples of stupid hate videos and books that are found in Islamic countries. No lie is too stupid or vile for Muslims when it comes to spreading hate about non-Muslims. Here we have a video that is distributed in many Arab countries that accuses the West in general and America in particular of the tragic death of infants in Libya. A Palestian doctor and 5 Bulgarian nurses were charged with this, although most experts place the blame on the unsanitary conditions in Lybian hospitals and medical facilities. Blame the West, always. I could put dozens of other examples like this here, many of which can be found in the mosques. It is the usual case of "something bad has happened, blame the infidels" mentality we see in Islam.
24 month pregnancy. The maximum period of pregnancy in the Sharia is 24 months... (also elephants!). If a women was pregnant at the time of her husband's demise, but did not deliver the child, she really was not pregnant, even if she had the child. This is obviously a medical breakthrough!
The 1 hour pregnancy. In paradise the "pregnancy and delivery will take an hour, and the child will be any age the man wants." This is great... Suppose you need some help moving the furniture, well 'do' the wife, wait one hour and order a 25 year old son, just to help you move the sofa. And there will still be time for "deflowering virgins" as indicated on the page. What a religion! 
The Ancient Greeks were Muslims. Well, at least Aristotle, Plato, and Socrates. Allah sent messengers to all nations, according to the Quran, so what about the Romans? Don't they count? Maybe the Buddha was a Muslim, too!
Deceit (al-taqiyya) is an integral part of all Islam. The guy is mad because of the Shia / Shiite claim that the doctrine of deception is theirs alone. He says 'no,' that it belongs to all of Islam, including the Sunni, who are 90% of Islam. For those who don't know, the doctrine of al-taqiyya is that of deception or dissimulation, by which a Muslim is permitted to lie if it advances the cause of Islam. For example, to say "Islam teaches peace" is taqiya, because in reality Islam teaches hate and anger - but saying that it means 'peace' sounds much better!
Removing human rights, because they are against Islam. The Islamic nation of the Maldives has banned the distribution and possession of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights because they violate the rules of Islam. The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs has stated, however, that the document can be distributed if the offending parts are removed!
Special rights for Muslims. I could right a page about this. Everywhere Muslims go they want special rights: prayer rooms, baths, food, no wine, no dogs, exemptions from activities, time off, etc.. Not only do they want special treatment for themselves, but they want non-Muslims to alter their habits to accomodate them. Thus, pork cannot be served around them. Here is another example. Muslims don't have to follow the "No Smoking" laws. This is stupid because it is counter-productive. It creates resentment - but they don't care. It is because of things like this (and others) that I have absolutely no goodwill left for Muslims. Don't give an inch. Tell them the truth and if it hurts their sensitive feelings, who cares, so what.
Allah is we? We is Allah. We is one. We is confused! The Quran often uses the plural form for Allah. Oops! The Bible also uses the plural ('Let us make man in our image' or the use of the plural Elohim for God) but Christians have an explanation (Trinity!). Muslims, on the other hand, affirm that "Allah is one" so the plurality problem must be explained. Here it is... "The first person singular is used when Allah speaks of his love.. the plural is often used when Allah speaks of his power..." now get this.. "Sometimes the reverse is also the case, depending on the context..."
Pork causes wife-swapping. Yes, and pigs are also known for their wild parties and the unending ménage à trois in their pens. This is from an Indian Muslim site. Quote: The pig is the most shameless animal on the face of the earth. It is the only animal that invites its friends to have sex with its mate. In America, most people consume pork. Many times after dance parties, they have swapping of wives; i.e. many say "you sleep with my wife and I will sleep with your wife." If you eat pigs then you behave like pigs. Porn and Muslims. I have seen this problem discussed on several Islamic websites. This screen is from one called "The Islamic Workplace" and it talks about the problem of Muslims downloading and viewing porn. The problem is not just viewing it, but the facts that they do it more often than those wicked, immoral infidels. I quote: According to Google Trends, over all years for which data has been gathered, seven out of the top ten countries searching for the word ’sex’ on the internet are Muslim Countries. In order of viewing, these Muslim countries are : Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, Algeria, Morocco, Indonesia and Iran. It gets worse. Another Arab blogger, Sandmonkey, looks at the statistics for the words "Man boy sex" on Google and then says that these are things he didn't even want to know"
Muslims gone wild. Another problem I see on Muslim websites is the problem of sexual assault and harassment in Islamic countries. I have seen so many comments by female bloggers in Jordan, Lebanon, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, and especial Arabia. But all of these comments pale in comparison to events in Egypt last October 2006. I quote: "a mob went on a rampage of sexual assaults in downtown Cairo during the recent Eid holiday ... women, who flooded the comments section of those blogs with a compendium of horror stories of their own sexual harassment ...The sexual attacks were shocking in their systematic viciousness . Eye witnesses said the mob went from one woman to the next with a determination that did not discriminate between veiled or unveiled, young or old and at one point even dragged a woman out of a taxi in which she had tried to escape." The article continues: "The old, lame excuses were pulled out, of course. They ranged from the ridiculous: the women asked for it simply by being in a crowded part of town; to the surreal: a belly dancer who had performed outside of cinema that was showing the premier of her film was to blame for arousing the mob. If sexual harassment has been the ugly daily backdrop for so many Egyptian girls and women, what had turned it into such a violent foreground?" and so on...
Breast-feeding Co-Workers. At last, something smart! I quote: An Egyptian Imam has issued a fatwa, or religious edict, saying adult men could breast-feed from female work colleagues as a way to avoid breaking Islamic rules that forbid men and women from being alone together. In Islamic tradition, breast-feeding establishes a degree of maternal relation, even if a woman nurses a child who is not biologically hers. It means the child could not marry the nursing woman’s biological children. Attiya - the head of Al-Azhar’s Department of Hadith, or teachings of the Prophet Muhammad - insisted the same would apply with adults. He argued that if a man nursed from a co-worker, it would establish a family bond between them and allow the two to work side-by-side without raising suspicion of an illicit sexual relation.
To stand or to sit, that is the question. Once again it is offensive, except if Mohammad did it - of course. Perhaps you infidels didn't know that the question of men urinating while standing up is controversial in Islam. Here a Muslim blogger explains. I quote: For example, I had been told that it was not sunna to urinate while standing up, and had heard the hadith of Aisha that anyone who says the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) passed urine while standing up, do not believe him (Musnad al-Imam Ahmad. 6 vols. Cairo 1313/1895. Reprint. Beirut: Dar Sadir, n.d., 6.136). But then I read the hadith in al-Bukhari that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) once urinated while standing up (Sahih al-Bukhari, 1.66: 224), and decided that what I had first been told was a mistake, or that perhaps it did not matter much. Only later, when I began translating the Arabic of the Shafi'i fiqh manual Reliance of the Traveller did I find out how the scholars of sharia had combined the implications of these hadiths; that the standing of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) to pass urine was to teach the Umma that it was not unlawful (haram), but rather merely offensive (makruh)--though in relation to the Prophet such actions were not offensive... The perfect Calendar - The Islamic one, of course
This is great. This Muslim site (Hijra Calendar)not only says the Islamic calendar is perfect, it also says the Western (Gregorian) Calendar -- now pay attention -- loses days. Yes, in case you missed it, last year April 10 and August 19 just disappeared, and nobody noticed! In fact millions of people went to bed on April 9 and woke up on April 11.
And there is the fasting on Ramadan dilemma. It seems that Allah and Mohammad were unaware of the concept of latitude and the inclination of the earth axis, and the effect of these on the length of the day. The fact is that Muslims are supposed to fast (not eat) during daylight hours for the sacred month of Ramadan. This works fine for Arabia and the Middle East, and most historical Islamic countries, where the times between days and nights are not dramatically different. However, Muslims in Stockholm or Argentina may be faced with 20 hour days and 4 four nights. Bummer! There is also the fact that a Muslim living above the Artic Circle, with perpetual daylight, might not be able to eat the whole month, and the whole month may not end for three months, or until daylight returns, or the sun finally goes down. Double bummer! Once again, out goes the Quran, and the Islamic authorities often suggest that Muslims in extreme latitudes observe Ramadan in accordance with the sunrise and sunset times in Mecca. informs the following:MAKKAH: The Saudi Council of Senior Scholars has rejected the demand that the beginning and end of lunar months should be determined on the basis of astronomical calculations. “Shariah does not accept astronomical calculations based on mathematical computing as the basis for the beginning and ending of Ramadan,” said Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh, grand mufti of Saudi Arabia and chairman of the council. “If anyone doubts our moon-sighting, fasting and feasting, it betrays his weak faith and defective perception,” the grand mufti, who is head of the Administration of Research in Religious Sciences and Fatwa said. He cited a Hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him) which says, “You start fasting when you see (the moon) and stop it when you sight (the next moon) and when it is hidden by clouds, complete (30 days of) fasting.” The grand mufti added that it is obligatory on the Muslims to start fasting when any Muslim known for his honesty and healthy eyesight claims to have sighted the new moon. This is the practice in the Kingdom, he said, dismissing suggestion that Muslims may depend on astronomical calculations to begin fasting in Ramadan and celebrate Eid. The senior scholars’ council concluded a series of discussions on the issue and came to the conclusion on Tuesday that sighting of the moon should be the basis of a month’s beginning though three of its members supported the idea of depending on astronomical calculations. Meanwhile, Saudi astronomer Jabar Al-Doussary said religious scholars and astronomers should settle their dispute on the moon-sighting issue. Khaled Al-Zuaq, member of the Arab Federation of Space Sciences and Astronomy stressed the need for a meeting of astronomers and religious scholars to bring an end to the row over moon-sighting and avoid errors. “The present method of confirming moon-sighting has created confusion that can be removed easily by adopting scientific methods,” he said. A 15-member panel from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE and Bahrain had decided two years ago to launch an Islamic satellite, which would be used for sighting moon.What? A moon sighting Islamic satellite? Well, at least Ahmed keeps his job, but he is going to have to have to ride on top of the satellite now.
Here is the story:Doha (AsiaNews/Agencies) – Muslim scientists and clerics have called for the adoption of Makkah time in lieu of GMT, arguing that the Saudi city is the true centre of the Earth. The call was issued at a conference held in the Gulf state of Qatar under the title: Makkah, the Centre of the Earth, Theory and Practice. One geologist at the Qatar conference said Makkah’s longitude is perfectly aligned with magnetic north and should therefore replace the English city, which has been measuring time zones since 1884... Sheikh Youssef al-Qaradawya cleric, said modern science had at last provided evidence that Makkah was the true centre of the Earth, proof, he said, of the greatness of the Muslim “qibla”—the Arabic word for the direction Muslims turn to when they pray.Other interesting quotes from this "scientific" meeting:
The participants recommended the unification of the time in the Arab world to the time in Makkah instead of Greenwich. They also called the Arab governments to abandon the new world maps “because they are forged to serve Western interests.” They also demanded that buildings in the Arab world be directed towards Qibla. The moderator of the event... said “the West imposed on us the invisible Greenwich line” as the world’s reference time... and so on...
Any way, there are a few minor problems with this, err, umm, "scientific" proposal, such as these silly things:
1. Greenwich GMT is an arbitrarily point established by the British as a point of navegation (using the newly developed clock technology) to establish longitude (East / West) reference. If the Arabs had developed clocks and had taken the initiative then maybe we would have had Mecca time 400 years ago. It is Allah's fault.
2. I am sorry to have to tell these 'experts' that currently Zero Declination point is about 100 miles east of Mecca. Bummer! This is also the Magnetic Prime Meridium but nobody uses it. Maybe these scholars could move the city of Mecca and the qibla to the real magnetic center point.
3. It get worse. The position of Magnetic North changes over time, year after year, drifting as the nagnetic field of the earth shifts. This may be why they don't use it as a marker. I guess they are going to have to put Mecca and the Kaaba on wheels, also, to follow the magnetic meridium as it moves a few miles every year.
4. If Mecca were to the the true "center" it would also have to be a latitude zero... in other words, on the equator if we want to consider the such silly things as the rotation of the earth and the inclination of its axis. Now we have to move Mecca south a thousand miles.
5. Wait! Isn't the true "Center of the Earth" at the core of the earth, a few more thousand miles underground? Start digging! Mecca is going get real hot!
6. What about the IDL? The International Date Line is as important as the Prime Meridian. This is the opposing point (180 degrees longitude) on the earth used to reset zero hour. If the Muslim proposal were accepted then the new IDL will pass through North America, meaning that it would be two days simultaneously in a country, even a few miles apart. Really smart! I guess this silly, insignificant aspect never occured to the geniuses at the conference. One of the reasons Greenwich was chosen is because the IDL would be out in the empty middle of the Pacific Ocean. The fish don't really care if it Monday for one fish and Tuesday for the fish next to it.
7. Yes, the Greenwich line is "invisible". Another European conspiracy! Maybe they should have painted a giant dotted line across the countryside and on the water accross the Ocean. That way it would be a "visible" line and Muslims would feel better.
8. Yes, maps are another European conspiracy. Those Europeans must work night and day to conspire against those sweet,loving Muslims. By the way, weren't the first maps done by the Babilonians? European Babilonians, then.
9. Instead of just "calling" for the adoption of Mecca time, why didn't these scholars propose an International scientific conference to debate the issue and compare evidence and ideas? Isn't that the way normal science works? I guess "Islamic Scienc"e works differently.
10. Just to be fair, here is a link to a page and website scientifically "proving" the Quran and demonstrating that Makkah is the center of the planet. As far as I am concerned, the only real scientific miracle in the Qu'ran is found in verses 18:85-86, which say the sun sets into a field of mud. You can't top that for science!
